"The EFT class dealing with overeating is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I really love taking this course!"

About Natural Vision Improvement:

"The reasons I attended Karen’s vision workshops were because of a recommendation and testimony of a person who had already taken the course. She stated that her eyesight had improved as a result of the experience and that the exercises taught, when practised, would continue to improve her eyesight even more. Because I was having difficulty reading lists of ingredients and labels while grocery shopping (and having made mistakes because of that), I was interested in investigating ways in which I could strengthen my vision without resorting to stronger and stronger prescriptions for my glasses.

In addition, my involvement in literacy meant many hours each day reading and writing on the computer, which were causing me eyestrain. I was noticing that after a particularly long day or two on the computer, my eyes were bothering me on subsequent days, making me unable to complete my work. Karen Alison’s vision workshops were advertised as a means to relieve eyestrain for those who worked long hours in front of a monitor screen.

I signed up for the sessions, and it was there that I met like-minded people, who immediately bonded in their desire to be proactive in saving their eyesight. Karen explained the purpose of the exercises she would be teaching us, she gave a history of eye care and treatments over the ages, and outstanding results from people who were able to reverse degeneration of their eyesight through consistent care and exercise.

As Karen proceeded through her teachings, and coaching, the sessions were relaxed and open to discussions and questions. Every question was answered, and most were reviewed during the following session, as Karen related the research she had done on our behalf. While coaching us, Karen moved among the participants to ensure appropriate method, providing the individualized attention or re-teaching as required.

At each session, Karen had available resources for those of us who wanted to continue readings or research on the topics introduced, as well as products that she recommended, e.g. as a follow up to a discussion about sunglasses and the dangers of inappropriate lenses, safe sunglasses were brought in as samples for participants to try. This experience helped participants understand the criteria for safe sunglasses and better prepared us for purchasing our own.

The importance of providing our eyes with rest as well as how to strengthen our eyes through exercise, and how to maintain the health or our eyes through nutrition and appropriate vitamins and minerals, was the basis of the program.

As easy as it may sound to rest our eyes, we were taught techniques that intensified the benefit of rest, which could be completed in short periods of time, and with the greatest impact. We were taught exercises which could be done discreetly in the workplace, and more focused exercises to be done in the privacy of our homes. Exercises in the workplace were meant to provide our eyes with needed rest and relaxation, while exercises at home were meant to strengthen the muscles in our eyes, and to improve our vision. We even had exercises to improve night vision.

My favourite exercises were those in which we provided our eyes with Vitamin D, using the sun. While sunning our eyes, and practicing dilating and contracting the iris, we had to face the sun and then turn away, repeatedly. The effects were immediate, and the vibrancy of the natural colours of nature were inspiring. As an amateur artist, I was inspired to paint. Not only were the colours so vibrant, but I was able to focus on items in the distance, such as birds or cloud formations, which have previously eluded me. Everything was so much crisper and richer in colour, and the panoramic view was one I couldn’t remember having since childhood. This was an indication to me of how much my vision had deteriorated in adulthood, and how much I had been missing.

For those who have taken a session with Karen know that she is open to discussion, and each of us had our questions answered, and each of us had the benefit of the expertise of the other participants. We had an excellent discussion about fluorescent lighting, and the potential impact of the new energy efficient light bulbs on our vision health. I now understand why I leave my windows uncovered during the day in my home and workplace.

Every session ended with a palming exercise, a favourite of mine for resting my eyes. While we were palming, Karen’s voice would guide us, and time would stand still. Karen’s voice is soft and caressing, and it is easy to forget that we are in a city. Her voice carries us away to a place of peace and healing, and at the end of the exercise, the participants slowly and reluctantly return to the noises and stresses of the real world, as if returning from a spa, revitalized, but sorry that the escape ended so soon.

My goals for taking Karen’s vision program were achieved. I feel in control of my eye health, as well as the care of my vision. It is a result of the knowledge I have gained through Karen’s instruction, and I am able to implement techniques when my eyes are tired. I take advantage of a sunny day to sun my eyes. And because of Karen’s instructions, I now associate different situations with the tools she has provided, and am able to implement them to meet my vision needs.

Anyone who is concerned about their vision as a result of spending long hours in front of the computer, or is already experiencing eyestrain and headaches, it’s not necessary or even recommended to immediately get a stronger prescription for your glasses. I would recommend Karen Alison’s vision program to anyone who wants to be more informed about how to manage their eye health and care, and wants to be proactive in maintaining good eyesight into their retirement years."
